Gabriel Jimenez

Gabriel, a San Jose community member born and raised in Gilroy, CA, moved to San Jose to pursue his Profession as an Educator. Coming from the East Side of Gilroy he was able to witness and experience the importance and necessity of a Community helping foster the passions and goals of the youth and aiding in their ability to reach their full potential. Involving himself in the community through his own creative passion of Rhythms and Poetry and Danza Mexica he has established himself in his new found community by opening space to learn these skills as an outlet of expression for the youth.  

Now an Educator for Social Justice at a local Middle School he utilizes his platform to build up students through a strong sense of identity and community. His belief in a strong sense of self as a catalyst for self expression guides his philosophy in the importance of community involvement for individual inspiration and sense of belonging. He views access to resources as the main barrier in finding creative outlets to express one selves and now works towards providing those opportunities for the youth
